The service works on a community basis, where users simply add locations on a map where a Pokemon has been sighted for others to visit. The map covers the whole world, but it is up to the users to add their sightings. You can search for your location by using a simple search bar and share your findings with friends over Facebook. The services are completely free of charge, they are paid for via ad revenue. To submits new spots and to vote you need to login with Google.
